Denver's Ball Arena workers faced problems leveling the rim after the Celtics center hung on the basket and tilted it. Meanwhile, players struggled to stay warm and Boston star Jaylen Brown was fuming about it post-game.
"It was definitely a weird game. For sure, the delay was longer than I thought it would be. And it definitely kicked out our momentum a little bit when we were just trying to get going," he said in an opening statement.
The Celtics trailed 110-97 at the time of the delay.
"There was no communication," Brown pointed out.
"They spent all that time trying to fix it but when we came back it still looked like it wasn't even level, in my opinion. So, we just wasted all that time," NBA All-Star added.
Jaylen Brown finished a long-lasting game with 30 points.
"That's how injuries and stuff happen," he said. "That whole process was handled poorly, in my opinion, and that had an effect as well. But luckily nobody got hurt."
The arena workers eventually replaced the rim to get it even.
Boston could not turn the game around following the pause, and Denver celebrated its eighth consecutive home win by beating their opponents123-111.
