First, Radonjic received full support from Giannakopoulos. Meanwhile, general manager Argyris Pedoulakis has been transferred to the youth sector and will overlook talent development.

Giannakopoulos was reportedly dissatisfied with how the union between the coach and GM was working. All power has now been given to Radonjic.

Additionally, the Montenegrin coach has been given an unlimited budget for him to make the changes he wants in the roster, both for signing and for letting players go, as well as modifications in the non-sport side of the organization.

The restructuring was done in hopes of restoring the Panathinaikos image that Giannakopoulos wishes to see in Europe.

After a poor performance against Olympiacos Piraeus last week, a group of Panathinaikos fans even surrounded the players' tunnel, waiting for them to come out from the locker room. Panathinaikos communications officer Dimitris Kontos later approached the fans, general manager Argiris Pedoulakis and the club's center Georgios Papagiannis spoke to the group as well.

With 6 wins and 9 losses, Panathinaikos are currently tied for 14th place in the EuroLeague standings together withEA7 Emporio Armani MilanandLDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. The Greek team travels to Germany this week to face off againstFC Bayern Munich. Giannakopoulos isexpected to travel and watchthe match live in the arena, a rarity for the businessman.
