Miami Heat rookie forward Nikola Jovic will be sidelined for four weeks due to lower back stress reaction and then re-evaluated, the team officially announced.

Cody Taylor of Rookie Wire reported that Jovic has dealt with the injury throughout the season and aggravated it Saturday on assignment in the NBA G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He then scored 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 25 minutes in a loss to the Ontario Clippers.

The 27th overall pick returned to Miami on Monday to undergo a further examination of the injury. The club will not rush him back.

Jovic averages 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists over 15 games (8 starts).

Miami is 20-18 on the season and ranks seventh in the Eastern Conference.
