Sasha Vezenkov has been sidelined for the last week due to a right adductor injury and missed the game against Panathinaikos Athens. This week, the Olympiacos Piraeus forward has a better chance to help his team.

Having practiced individually so far, the Bulgarian player has returned to team practice today but logged in with only limited participation. There is now hope that the Greek club's star will return to the court on Friday against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan at home.

Vezenkov signed a contract extension with the team on Monday, adding one year to an already existing deal. Vezenkov's salary will jump from €900,000 this season to €1.5 million next year and close to €2 million if he stays for the 2024-25 season.

In return, if the Olympiacos star were to transfer his talents to the other side of the Atlantic, the Greek club would receive a bigger buyout as a result of the move. According to Sport24.gr, Olympiacos would get a buyout in the range of $1 million to $1.5 million.

After a solid 2021-22 season in Europe, Vezenkov has been dominating this year, averaging 19.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals for a league-leading 25.3 PIR in the EuroLeague this season.
