"#FreeFacu," tweeted Nedovic.
"Yoooo… lol, this made me laugh, but for real," James replied.
"Let my man hoop!" Nedovic continued. "He be killing us in practice."
However, we won't see Campazzo hooping at least until March after EuroLeague has forbidden Crvena Zvezda to register new players until February 28. On top of that, Crvena Zvezda also received a €25,000 fine for severe violations of the Financial Stability & Fair Play Regulations.
Reacting to the news, Crvena Zvezda issued a statement asking EuroLeague CEO Marshall Glickman and EuroLeague president Dejan Bodiroga to step in and cancel the decision.
It is to be seen whether EuroLeague management will react to such a request, but in his own statement, Glickman was very clear.
"This is disappointing to us as we always want the best players on the court. It is frustrating that serious violations of the Financial Stability & Fair Play Regulations by the club are preventing great players from being registered until the end of February," said Glickman. "At the league office, we need to ensure that all teams adhere to the same rules, and that is the reason why independent regulatory bodies have imposed such a sanction."
Campazzo signed for Crvena Zvezda on December 19. The Argentinian guard will reportedly earn €1.8 million for the 2022-23 season and €2.5 million for the 2023-24 season.
