Anadolu Efes Istanbul head coach Ergin Ataman discussed the arrival of Chris Singleton following the 78-72 EuroLeague Round 17 win against ASVEL.

Two days ago, Efes announced that Singleton is back with the team, where he won two consecutive EuroLeague titles. The 33-year-old big man has not played a single game this season, being without a club for almost six months.

"He will be with the team during the double-round week," Ataman clarified. "We will assess the situation in Spain. Unless there is a big setback, he will be available for the game against Valencia. We'll see how long he plays.

We talked about his situation on the phone. Chris did not practice 5-on-5 basketball but stated that he is in good physical condition. He is a player who knows the system and the team. We don't have time, but I expect him to adapt quickly," the Turkish specialist said and added:

"He had many offers from EuroLeague teams but chose to join us. He was one of the most important players in our success in recent years."

Anadolu Efes travel to Spain next week for two EuroLeague games. They meet Valencia on Wednesday at La Fonteta (20:30 CET) and FC Barcelona on Friday at Palau Blaugrana (20:30 CET).

Following Chris Singleton's signing, it is expected that Achille Polonara will leave Anadolu Efes, with Zalgiris Kaunas being favorites to strike a deal with the Italian forward, according to BasketNews sources.
