However, he was registered for Zvezda's EuroLeague match against Valencia Basket last Friday (January 6th).
The league proceeded to cancel the player's registration and ultimately banned him from appearing on the court for any team in the competition this season.
"According to the article 13.10 of the Bylaws - Regulations on Work and Competition of the 1st ABA League in the 2022/23 season, any player shall not be allowed to play at the same time for two different clubs, even if they are participating in different competitions," the league's announcement says.
Topic has since been removed from the team's roster in the EuroLeague as well.
The player's agent Misko Raznatovic announced today that the prospect will be joining OKK Belgrade, a team that plays in the Serbian Basketball League (KLS). The team is currently placed 12th in the competition.
