Red Star talent Filip Petrusev scored a team-high 21 points to go with six rebounds for a team-best 25 PIR.
However, Zvezda head coach Dusko Ivanovic did not agree with the statement that Petrusev was the best player on the court on Thursday night.
"Petrusev made one good statistic [line], but he played badly. He has to play much better. No, I won't say anything more. That's it," Ivanovic declared in the post-game conference.
Meanwhile, Petrusev himself hinted about his poor defensive performance.
"I didn't think I was there defensively tonight, but it was a great team effort again," he said.
"I'm just glad that we were able to win at home because we lost a couple of times there, and these fans support us every time. They deserved this one. We usually tend to go up and then lose the advantage, so it was good to get the advantage early and keep it the whole game. It was a great team effort," the 22-year-old big man added.
Petrusev is having a breakout EuroLeague season, averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 13.4 PIR over 19 games.
Zvezda rank ninth in the EuroLeague standings with 10 wins and 9 losses.
