Messina said that the re-evaluation of Pangos didn't go well and that the player won't be available until the end of February at least. Meanwhile, Shields is slowly getting better, but most likely he won't be available before the Italian Cup, which is scheduled to take place from 15 to 19 February.

After winning three straight EuroLeague games during December, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan returned to losing ways. Zalgiris Kaunas handed the Italians the third consecutive loss on Friday night and reminded them again about the absence of two key players: Kevin Pangos and Shavon Shields.

The latter has not played since October 20 due to a left foot injury, while Pangos remains sidelined with a knee injury. The Canadian guard last played on November 24.

Coach Ettore Messina didn't have a positive update on Pangos while speaking with Sky Sport before the Armani-Zalgiris game yesterday.

The Italian specialist said that the re-evaluation of Pangos didn't go well and that the player won't be available until the end of February at least.

Meanwhile, Shields is slowly getting better, but most likely he won't be available before the Italian Cup, which is scheduled to take place from 15 to 19 February.

After Friday's defeat, Messina reiterated his words about Pangos and talked about the possibility of returning to the market.

"At first, we thought that Pangos would have come back sooner, but after the negative test that he received today, we'll make our considerations on the market. We've been thinking about it since this morning," Messina said.

Messina's words came to fruition Saturday morning when Gazzetta dello Sport reported about a finalizing deal between a 12-season NBA veteran Kemba Walker and the struggling Italian powerhouse.

Milan is 17th in the EuroLeague standings and dropped to 6-13 following its third straight defeat on Friday night.
