The report coming from the respectable and reliable Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on EA7 Emporio Armani Milan being on the verge of finalizing a deal with 12-season NBA veteran Kemba Walker has made headlines all over Europe since it was published.

Per the same report, the two sides already have an agreement in place that will be finalized only after the results of the player's medical tests. Apparently, the deal looks like a pure formality.

However, it seems that the truth is different. According toEurohoops' Aris Barkasand confirmed by BasketNews sources, the four-time NBA All-Star guard and the Italian powerhouse haven't had any talks about potentially joining forces.

Milan, currently sitting next-to-bottom in the EuroLeague standings at 6-13, appears to not have made a decision on whether one or more players should be added to their roster ahead of the next games.

Coach Ettore Messina revealed that starting point guard Kevin Pangos will be sidelined for at least six more weeks, while forward Shavon Shields isn't expected to return before mid-February.

The odds are that Milan will make a move on the market sooner or later, but Kemba Walker's name isn't among those being considered by the Italian champs.

Walker, 32, had a nine-game stint with the Dallas Mavericks this season, averaging 8.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 42.1% shooting. He has career averages of 19.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 750 games (697 starts) with Charlotte (2011-19), Boston (2019-21), New York (2021-22), and Dallas (2022-23).

Drafted No. 9 overall by then-named Charlotte Bobcats in 2011, Walker had an injury-riddled last three seasons after playing all 82 regular-season games in 2018-19.

The 1.83-meter point guard was born in the Bronx and played his high school ball for Rice in Manhattan before starring at UConn in college.
