"For me, it's the worst thing I've ever coached in my six and a half years in Germany. We were embarrassed, this is the bottom and it's very hard to swallow."
"This is a reality check. We're talking about being tired and okay, it's our third straight week of back-to-back-to-back-to-back games, but sorry, I don't give a shit. We're here to play basketball, honor a jersey, and play hard. But we didn't do that," the coach continued. "It's a turning point now. What happens now, we will see in the next few days. Because you can't go on without analyzing a game like this."
Bayern got off to a bad start and were already trailing by 23 points at the half (32:55). Trinchieri's team didn't lead for even a second in the match and shot just 37% from the field.
"Such games are turning points. You either choose to do what you should do and how you should do it... That's the only option we have right now and we're going to do it," the coach said.
"This is a terrible day for us because not one player found a way to play. And it's all about energy and intensity. We got six team fouls, all together, in [the first] 18 minutes where we conceded 55 points in the first half. This is the picture of a team that was not present. And I can't stand that," Trinchieri concluded.
Bayern will now travel to Turkey to face off against the reigning EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul.
