With Luka Doncic sidelined due to injury, the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. Without the Slovenian superstar on the roster, the Mavs have lost all five games and did it by an average margin of 13.4 points.

At the same time, a mural by artist Preston Pannek was painted on the side of St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin in Dallas with Doncic holding a sign with the phrase 'Please Send Help' written on it. The club's owner Mark Cuban apparently didn't like the painting.

Mavs Moneyball report that the businessman wrote Pannek an email, expressing his position.

"It's disrespectful," Cuban wrote in an email to Pannek. "But it's your choice to do what you want. If that's the way you want to be a fan. Go for it."

Doncic is having the best season of his career, averaging 33.8 points, 9 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Besides him, only three players average more than 10 points per game - Christian Wood (18.3 PPG), Spencer Dinwiddie (16.6 PPG), and Tim Hardaway Jr. (14 PPG).

As a result, a common notion started to rise amongst NBA fans that the Slovenian superstar needs more help around him in order to pursue a championship ring.

"I find it an odd way that he handled the emails the way that he did,” Pannek said about Cuban's email to Mavs Moneyball. "He could have easily just invited me down to a game and talked about this if he was really that upset that he seems to be. But he took it a different way."

In the end, Cuban sent words of appreciation for the artist's work.

"Not being the first to say something always justifies what you say, Preston," Cuban wrote. "I appreciate the other murals you have done. You truly have artistic talent."
