Zvezda brought two Argentinian stars -- Luca Vildoza and Facundo Campazzo -- in the middle of the season, and AS Monaco's leader questioned the Serbian team's financial situation and where the money flow comes from.

"I don't understand that. I like Red Star having in the league, great fans, and all of that, but how you like go from a team that could not sign big players, and then you sign Vildoza and Campazzo?" Mike James was curious during URBONUS podcast with him and Donatas Motiejunas in Monaco.

"You spend all this money in the middle of the season and then you are not paying people. I am just confused where the money comes from, and how they are doing this. How can you do that and not pay other people? I do not understand," he continued.

"I am confused, but you know, it's really none of my business, so... But you should pay the players. Pay people that work for you," James finished the topic.

For his part, Zvezda's president sent James a message in today's press conference.

"Should I, as the president, get into a controversy with a player? Mike James is a good player, [but] we would never take him to Zvezda. We showed that on the court with a 24-point win and a logo kiss..."

Covic's words referred to EuroLeague Round 19 game between Crvena Zvezda and Monaco in Belgrade, where the visitors were no match for the hosts. Before the game, Monaco head coach Sasha Obradovic kissed the Red Star logo in the middle of the court.

Obradovic has been a part of the Crvena Zvezda organization both as a player and a coach.
