As stated by Kleber, one part of the tendon that attaches to the hamstring was torn.
"To give an exact date when I'm going to be able to play is kind of hard, because the last path of being able to sprint and change of direction, the dynamics is like really the hard part about rehab," Kleber pointed out.
"It's hard to see how my muscle adjusts because it was a tendon part, but the muscle has to heal too. It's hard to give a date, but I'm good on the timeline so far. I'm not out for the season, I can't give an exact date, but I hope, I'm gonna be back within the next week, preferably before All-Star break," he noted.
"I don't want to jinx anything, or say anything, or make promises, but that's the plan. There are so many factors that come into that, but that's the goal."
Kleber, 30, averaged 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 22 games this season before the injury that he suffered at practice. Despite his not-flashy numbers, Kleber has been a crucial part of the Mavs' defensive schemes.
He arrived in Dallas in 2017 after previous stints with Bayern Munich, Obradoiro, and Wurzburg.
Maxi Kleber has averaged 7.0 points and 4.7 rebounds over 348 NBA games (136 starts), all with Dallas.
