The hosts managed to recover after a dreadful stretch at the end of the regulation and won the four-point thriller in OT, 98-94 (20-20, 27-19, 13-21, 24-24, 10-14).
Fenerbahce extended its winning streak to three games, while Monaco has lost a fourth game of its last six.
The game was tied at 60 after 30 minutes of play. Johnathan Motley continued his domination under the baskets, Marko Guduric and Nick Calathes splashed one three apiece, and Fenerbahce were leading 80-72 with 3 minutes to go.
Nick Calathes did not stop. EuroLeague's assists king scored four points in a row and seemed to shut down all of Monaco's efforts to come back into the match (84-76).
Mike James and the company had other thoughts. James, Ouattara, and Diallo organized a 6-0 run and Monaco trailed by only two points (82-84) with 32.3 seconds left.
Monaco got a stop and had 7.1 seconds to tie or win the thriller. Mike James penetrated the defense, missed the layup, but John Brown grabbed the crucial offensive rebound and scored two points, tying the game at 84 with 0.4 seconds on the clock. Fenerbahce turned the ball over and both teams headed into overtime.
Players struggled to score at the start of the additional five minutes, but then Scottie Wilbekin made a two-point bucket, Nigel Hayes-Davis added a triple, and Fenerbahce were up by four (91-87) with 2 more minutes to play.
Hayes-Davis and Mike James exchanged with successful attacks (94-91). After Fenerbahce failed to score, Mike James tried to tie the game with a three but his shot was off the mark. Monaco got an offensive board, and James took initiative again. He tried to make a layup but Hayes-Davis blocked his crucial shot. Marko Guduric made two free throws on the other end (96-91).
James attempted to save the day for Monaco again (94-96), but his efforts were overshadowed by Marko Guduric, who made two game-clinching free throws and secured the win for Fenerbahce (98-94).
Monaco got back Jordan Loyd in a game after his face and shoulder injuries, but he did not feel the rhythm. He finished the game scoreless.
Mike James led the losing side with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Scottie Wilbekin was the top scorer for Fener, posting 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Fenerbahce: Scottie Wilbekin 21 (5 AST), Nigel Hayes-Davis 18 (7 REB), Johnathan Motley 17 (9 REB), Marko Guduric 16 (6 REB), Nick Calathes 10 (8 AST).
