Daron Russel set the ABA League scoring record with 47 points earlier this year. He will now compete in the Basketball Champions League for Galatasaray Istanbul, signing a deal to play in Turkey until the end of the 2023-24 season.

After starting the season with Mornar-Barsko zlato this season, the player will now move to Galatasaray Istanbul to play in the Basketball Champions League. The deal will keep the player in Turkey until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Russell made a name for himself earlier this season, scoring 47 points against Zadar on 13-for-31 shooting, making 14 free throws out of 16 to beat the ABA League scoring record. The 1.80-meter guard also drew 13 fouls, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and made 4 steals, finishing the game with 0 turnovers.

Russell also became the first player in league history to start the season with two consecutive 40+ point games. The guard scored 41 points against Igokea m:tel in the season opener on October 1st.
