The sum collected throughout the years exceeds €120,000. 5 patients later died after receiving his treatment.
Triantaphyllos used to work as a physiotherapist for the Olympiacos Piraeus basketball club in the 1990s. He was part of the German VfB Stuttgart football team staff as well.
In one case where a woman passed away, the 'fake doctor', who received €42,000 for the procedures, told her family that it should have been done earlier and didn't take any blame. In another case, a man suffering from multiple sclerosis passed away several years after following Triantaphyllos and his accomplice's treatments when the man's condition was declared irreversible.
When one of the patients wanted to receive his money back after seeing that the treatment was ineffective, Triantaphyllos told him "Do whatever you want, take me wherever you want". The man ultimately passed away.
Triantaphyllos offered stem cell treatments in order to cure serious illnesses. In one case, he offered "Russian preparation in the form of a yellow powder" to a 55-year-old patient who suffered from myopathy, charging €100 for each vial.
Both Triantaphyllos nor his accomplice haven't been arrested yet. The 66-year-old is expected to be defended by well-known criminologist Alexis Kougias.
