Lundberg seemed to suffer from a finger injury during an Italian Lega Basket (LBA) match against Happy Casa Brindisi during the weekend.
The team's head coach Sergio Scariolo appeared on the Area 52 podcast where he gave an injury update.
"It's a perfect example of a mid-season injury. Iffe has been living with this pain for weeks and is also mentally conditioned by it. MRI ruled out fractures but found a heavy hematoma," Scariolo said.
"You never know whether to drag out the injuries trying to benefit from the athlete's sacrifice or whether to stop him to make him recover better," the coach explained. "We currently have players who would only take the field if the match was a final."
With 9 wins and 11 losses, Virtus are currently are 13th in the EuroLeague standings. This week, the team travels to Germany to face off against FC Bayern Munich.
