Unhappy with the decision, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade have released a statement, which addresses the upcoming Radivoj Korac Cup in February.
"The rules are clear but are not being enforced," the club says in a statement. "The club has no right to remain silent about this attempt to humiliate the national championship."
The statement is concluded with a rhetorical question: "Who would sanction KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet if they didn't appear at the Cup Final in Nis?"
The 8-team playoff tournament for the Cup will be held in Nis from February 15th until February 18th.
Crvena Zvezda will make the decision whether to participate in the tournament and defend last year's title until the start of the cup, the club announced.
