Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is expected to return to the lineup against the San Antonio Spurs, Dave McMenamin from ESPN reports.

Davis will be back on the court after 5.5 weeks after suffering a fractured bone spur and stress reaction in his right foot.

Davis will be on a 20-24 minute restriction, easing back from an injury that had some medical personnel projecting an 8-10 week recovery timeframe.

Davis averages 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in 25 contests this season.

The Lakers have a 22-26 record that is good enough only for 13th place in the Western Conference.

Without Davis, the Lakers have gone 10-10.
