His Twitter account has tweeted or commented on anything for multiple years now.
In an interview with BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas, Higgins explained his stance.
"You don't see me on social media, I don't like social media at all. I didn't even want to do this interview until Casce (Carles Cascante, Barca's press officer) convinced me to do it," the player was honest. "It's just not for me. I think there are great benefits, it's just a personal preference for myself because it's very distracting."
"You see interviews with guys, it's a lot of fakeness on social media so I just try to stay away from it," he said. "I don't like commenting on stuff. You won't see me on there ever."
Barcelona are taking on Real Madrid in the EuroLeague this week. The game will be broadcasted in VR, a first in the tournament's history.
