Coach Dejan Radonjic explained after the end of the game that the severity of the problem would be known after the tests the player will undergo on Friday.
"We will do some tests and see. It's a sprain," Ponitika told Greek broadcaster NOVASPORTS.
"We played as a team, fought for each other, and shared the ball. We solved our problems and everything was fine tonight. We played our best game this season," he commented.
"We are trying, but in some matches it does not work out for us. It's still January and anything can happen. We need a good streak. We are working hard and if we continue like this, this win will give us extra push," the experienced forward said.
The Greens host Ionikos at OAKA on Saturday for the Greek League, before flying out to Spain for the double-header vs. Real Madrid and Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz next week.
