164 days after the epilogue to the 2021-2022 season (84-82 for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne), AS Monaco (16-3) and the Lyon-based side (10-9) met again at the Astroballe for the LNB Round 19.

The Monegasques racked up their third win of the season against their main rivals, this time by 72-63 72-63 (16-16, 18-18, 15-11, 23-18), after celebrating two wins in Round 2 of the LNB and also in the EuroLeague regular season.

In a low-scoring game, the visiting team saw five players achieve double-digits, with Elie Okobo leading the pack with 20 points and 8 rebounds against his former team. Mike James added 13 for Sasa Obradovic's squad, while newcomer Chima Moneke contributed 12.

ASVEL hit 30/67 of their field-goal attempts (35.1%) and lost touch with Monaco in the fourth quarter, when the guests geared up and finished with 16 offensive boards.

Retin Obasohan produced 16 points for the hosts, but Nando De Colo's bad shooting night and ASVEL's overall poor percentages didn't help TJ Parker's team to stay close to the league leaders.
