Team LeBron will play forBig Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, which creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Team Giannis will play forRaise the Future, which aims to decrease the number of youth in foster care and increase the chances of lifelong connection by providing trauma-healing services to young people and families.
A total of $750,000 will be contributed to the two organizations through the NBA All-Star Game and the NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T.
ALL-STAR GAME FORMAT
FIRST THREE QUARTERS:Team LeBron and Team Giannis will compete to win each of the first three quarters for their respective organizations. Each of the first three quarters will be played with each team’s score starting at zero. The winner of each 12-minute quarter (first, second, and third) will be the team that scores the most points within that quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER (FINAL TARGET SCORE): At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the game clock will be turned off, and the Final Target Score will be set.
The Final Target Score will be the leading team’s total score after the first three quarters PLUS 24 points. For example, if the leading team’s total score after the first three quarters is 100, the Final Target Score would be 124 (100 + 24).
The winner of the NBA All-Star Game will be the first team to reach (or surpass) the Final Target Score in the untimed fourth quarter, meaning that the game will end with a made field goal or made free throw. The winning team will earn an additional contribution to its organization.
