Two days after demanding to be traded from the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving seems to have found his new team.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, the superstar guard has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Marc Cuban's team is giving up Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round pick, and multiple second-round picks, the renowned journalist reports.

Dallas is sending a 2029 unprotected first-rounder, a 2027 second-rounder, and a 2029 second-rounder to the Nets, Charania adds. As part of the deal, Markieff Morris is going to Dallas.

The Mavericks consulted with Luka Doncic before making the move, NBA insider Marc Stein reports.

The Nets guard has a 15% trade bonus in his contract. He'd get a $2.1 million bonus which would have to be paid by the Nets if Irving doesn't void it. Finney-Smith also has a trade bonus included in his contract.

Irving is "ecstatic" about the trade, Chris Haynes from Bleacher Report notes.

The Mavericks were initially cited as one of the most probable locations for Irving to land in. With Doncic struggling to bring significant wins without a clear no. 2 guy, Dallas was looked at as one of the most likely destinations.

The deal with the Lakers fell out due to the franchise being in disagreement with Irving on how he should proceed. The Lakers wanted him to sign a two-year deal upon getting to the organization. Meanwhile, Irving wants to play out this season and test the free agency in the summer.

Irving was not assured of a subsequent contract by the Mavs, Stein notes. The star guard will be eligible for a two-year extension during the season worth more than $80 million and a full four-year contract during the summer.

Irving has been averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists for the Nets this season.
