Kyrie Irving's trade from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks has been the main discussion topic in the basketball world since the late weekend.

A Twitter feed was stacked with various reactions to Kyrie going to Texas when two famous NBA insiders -- The Athletic's Shams Charania and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski -- had broken the news on social media on Sunday.

Mavs shooting guard Josh Green doesn't have a Twitter account, so his phone was buzzing with text messages instead of Twitter notifications.

"I don't have Twitter, so I had no idea [about the trade]. I was in the shower and I came out to like 20 text messages, and I'm like, 'Oh, I'm done. Like, I'm traded,' the Australian player described his emotions to Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News.

Another Dallas player Maxi Kleber learned the news while at a San Francisco coffee shop with teammate Dwight Powell, less than two hours before the Mavericks' flight to Salt Lake City.

Reserve forward Theo Pinson felt shocked. He'd just returned to his hotel room to prepare for the trip to Salt Lake City after eating breakfast in the team meal room with Dorian Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie. The blockbuster trade saw the latter duo moving to Brooklyn in a package with multiple picks.

The Mavericks-Nets deal was made official on Monday.
