Jones scored the last 11 Valencia Basket points in the game. It overshadowed a career game by Arturas Gudaitis who had to exit the game with a finger injury with under a minute left in the last quarter.
Jones finished the game with 24 points on 8-for-10 shooting, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 drawn fouls for 33 PIR.
To cap things off, Jones faked out Derrick Williams to hit a three-pointer that won Valencia the game. Talking about the shot after the match, the star guard was humble.
"It really wasn't what was designed but since it worked you can say that's what we drew up," Jones smiled. "Great credit to my teammates. We came out and got stops in the second half, not as many as we wanted but we locked in, got the stops we needed, and scored on the other end."
Jones didn't take credit for his 11 points to finish the game either.
"It's kind of what it looks like but like I said - credit to my teammates, these guys believe in me, the coaching staff, and everything. Just glad we got the win on the road," the guard said in the post-game interview.
A great performance by Arturas Gudaitis got lost behind Jones' triple. The Lithuanian big man recorded a dominant double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds for a career-high-tying 32 PIR.
