It was reported previously that Ross was finalizing a contract buyout with the Magic.
With a contract buyout, both sides mutually agree to end the contract with the team paying a portion of the salary. In return, the player becomes a free agent and can then choose whichever team he wants to continue his career in.
Ross signed a 4-year, $54 million deal with the Magic back in 2019 with an annual salary of $13.5 million. The guard is set to earn $11.5 million during the 2022-23 season.
Ross has been a part of the Orlando roster for the last seven seasons.
So far this season, Ross has been averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 42 games. He was drafted with the 8th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and won the NBA Dunk Contest back in 2013.
He brings his 38.1% 3-point shooting to the Suns' title pursuit.
