The 30-year-old basketball player had returned to Cankaya this season and had been stuck under the rubble of her grandmother's apartment, whom she had come to visit on the weekend. She also died a few days earlier.
During her career, Aydogan had been a member of Turkey's youth teams. She had played in the Turkish second division, with Osmaniye, Yalova and Mersin. In addition to Cankaya, where she had been in 2018-2019 and returned last summer, she had also worn the colors of Samsun.
The Turkish Basketball Federation issued the following release:
