Free agent Dewayne Dedmon returns to Philadelphia for the rest of the season.

The Philadelphia 76ers are signing free agent center Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Sixers had been active in the buyout market to find another center and land on Dedmon, who spent the past three seasons with the Miami Heat.

He returns to Philadelphia after playing here in 2014 and competing in 11 duels.

Dedmon was traded to the San Antonio Spurs before Feb. 9 deadline and later waived.

The 33-year-old big man has appeared in 30 games this season for Miami, all off the bench, averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds.

He has career marks of 6.4 points and 5.9 boards over 507 appearances (209 starts) with the Golden State Warriors, 76ers, Orlando Magic, Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and Heat.

NBA veteran received a hefty fine and a one-game suspensionfor tossing a massage gun earlier this season.
