After eight years at Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Jan Vesely headed to FC Barcelona with the goal of winning his second EuroLeague trophy.

"That's the reason why I came here, to win the EuroLeague. We have a great team and I believe that with this team we can win," Vesely told AS.
The Ostrava-born center touched on several issues just a few days before his team tries to defend its Copa del Rey title in Badalona, starting with the game against Unicaja Malaga next Thursday.
For starters, Vesely said he doesn't think players who compete with their clubs and their national teams play too much. But the 32-year-old big man also referred to his relationship with Tomas Satoransky.
"We've known each other for 16 years. Playing with him is easy, we know each other perfectly, we know our strengths and weaknesses so we know how to help each other on the court," he argued.
Vesely is experiencing a new situation now at Barca and can already feel a difference compared to other EuroLeague clubs.
"Barca is a more recognized brand. I see it for example with my people. There are Czechs who come to Barcelona to watch a Barca game, to cheer us on," Vesely noted. "Obviously, the football team has to do with it. Barça is famous all over the world. The Barca brand is huge."
The Czech international and 2017 EuroLeague champion has no doubt that the current campaign is the closest he can remember.
"We are on matchday 25 and nothing is certain," he said.
"Now, everything is very close. It's the beauty of the competition, every game is important and in every game you have to play 100 percent because you stumble a couple of times and you can stay out of the playoffs," he pointed out.
