Despite previous threats to withdraw from the competition, Crvena Zvezda's president Nebojsa Covic announced that the club will play in the Serbian Cup.

"The opinions of the board of directors somewhat differed - 18 were in favor, two were absent, and one voted against. Tomorrow we will arrive in Nis a day earlier, our first game is on Thursday," he said.
"We made the decision because of basketball in Serbia," Covic explained.
The club's first match is scheduled against Borac Mozzart Cacak at 18:00 CET on Thursday. If they defeat the opponent, Crvena Zvezda will most likely play against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in the semifinal.

Crvena Zvezda has previously stated that they might not participate due to Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade withdrawing from the Serbian League (KLS) playoffs last season.
